10 INTJ Characters You Should Know From Popular Fiction, Anime and Films

INTJ stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging. These are one of the 16 personality types in the Myers-Briggs Personality Test. These personalities are known for their strategical and tactical mind, analytical thinking skills, and a goal-oriented mind. These are passionate individuals who will do anything to achieve their goals. A lot of anime, TV shows, and films have depicted tons of INTJ characters over decades but these are the ones that stand out the most for INTJs themselves and the audience.

Top 10 INTJ Characters Seen In Popular Fiction

Before I start going through the list, it is important to note that the actual interpretation of these characters will differ from person to person. However, I have put this list together based on a general display of characteristics these characters portray throughout the life cycle of their shows/film series.

10. Dr. Strange (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

By all means, Dr Strange is an INTJ. The Master of the Mystic Arts has a strategic mind, independent demeanor and an intelligence that can be rivalled by only a few in the universe. INTJs naturally tend to be a stubborn breed and this character is one of those. He is always in search of ways he can become more powerful and wants to get the job done no matter how dire the situation is.

9. V (V For Vendetta)

(Image via Warner Bros Pictures)

V is one of the most iconic characters in pop culture. Always in control of the things happening around him, V was smart, confident and had his way no matter the situation. However, that overconfidence can come with a downside as he made tons of mistakes.

V has typical INTJ behavior, he never goes ahead with anything unless he knows full well of what is to come.

8. Wednesday Addams (Wednesday)

Jenna Ortega’s performance of Wednesday Addams was on point. From always having a stern look to planning out her next move and being aware of her surroundings, Wednesday Addams is the embodiment of your typical INTJ.

7. Shoto Todoroki (My Hero Academia)

My Hero Academia is a host to colorful characters with unique personalities and Shoto is one of them. A quiet demeanor, a calculating mind and possessing situational awareness is what Shoto is about. However, there are moments where he does become a hothead (quite literally), but even then, he always plans ahead and considers the consequences with a sound mind.

6. Shinobu Kocho (Demon Slayer)

Shinobu is the living form of the statement “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” However, she is much more than your typical hashira. Caring, vocal, tactical and confident, Shinobu commands admiration from everyone around her which has led her to become one of the most admired characters coming out of the Demon Slayer Anime and Manga series.

5. Severus Snape (The Harry Potter Franchise)

A heartbreaking character, Severus Snape was given life to be hated and despised, but his final moments turned him into a hero and a brave man. A tragic character, Snape was always tactful, planning ahead and stern. Snape knew how to command the room and ensured that everyone listened to what he had to say one way or the other.

4. Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

(Image via Crunchyroll)

Sasuke Uchiha might have a divided fanbase but there is no denying that he was an INTJ. A man of a few words in the original series, Sasuke Uchiha is unyielding, smart, calculated and logical. He has improved quite a lot in the Boruto series. Sasuke might have had a mixed allegiance throughout the series, but there is no denying that he cares about his family.

3. Walter White (Breaking Bad)

If determination and sheer will power was a person, it would be Walter White. The man knew he was dying, which is why he vowed to leave his family enough so that they can survive. Walter White was a strategist, had a sound mind and constantly weighed every situation he was presented with.

However, his determination at cooking meth led to his downfall, he got too greedy which is common in well-written characters.

2. Andy Dufresne (Shawshank Redemption)

Andy Dufresne’s ability to think strategically and his intelligence got him out of a lot of bad situations in Shawshank Redemption. He wasn’t one of those who loathed around for being put in jail. Instead he used the opportunity to craft an escape plan. His ability to plan ahead and situational awareness ensured that his slow burning plan was a success.

1. Paul Atreides (Dune)

The heir of the House of Atreides has a sound mind with a tactical outlook on everything he does. Paul Atreides is one of the most complex characters in the Dune franchise and not just because he is the main character. With impeccable combat skills and a sharp mind, he can do wonders if he sets his mind to something as we have seen in the movies. However, the story is much deeper if one knows about the books.
